Maryam Palizgir *Design

Product Designer

WHO AM I?

An ambitious creative who loves to listen, research, learn, help, and make.

Three words that would best describe my style are:

Collaborative: A team player; loves feedback and building off each other’s strengths.

Empathetic: Listens and validates others.

Lifelong learning: Always try new things and keep a “to-learn” list and set goals.

BACKGROUND

I have a BFA in Visual Communication, an MFA in Studio Art, and MA in Interactive Design(expected graduation in 2023). I am currently working as a Product Designer.

EXPERIENCE

I’ve been designing since 2000 as a graphic design student, but I think It has been 10 years since I have been working as a professional creative and educator. I have worked with small and big companies while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

My experience as an educator/research enthusiast reinforces my critical thinking, and problem-solving also equips me as a strong collaborator who’s truly interested in hearing and sharing perspectives.

WHY UX/UI DESIGN?

After obtaining my Master’s in Studio art, I wanted to find a way to integrate my love for helping others with my creative side. UX/UI design allows me to use my analytical and research skills alongside my artistic /imaginative style.

WORK PHILOSOPHY

I believe that analyzing data, studying human behavior, and observing people in action are essential elements that help me design products with empathy. I am passionate about creating better digital products that can be accessible to everyone. I hope to move toward more inclusive digital products through my designs
